In Other Shocking Football News,

As do the Lions and the Washington Racistnames.

The Vikings are starting their third quarterback in a month. And their savior this week is Josh Freeman, who got hisself run out of Tampa. Doesn't matter if you agree with whatever he was complaining about there, pro football coaches are second only to college football coaches and Jozef Stalin in dictatorial powers, so I 'spect he ain't their answer.

To which I say

Meanwhile, we play Cleveland, who, while much improved, are a project team. And we need some damn healing. Here's hoping!

  1. Cutler went down in the second. He looked like Lynn dickey in the pocket. (yes, I am at my office, but went to the pub for lunch. And a couple of Sprechers)

As far as QB, Blanchard from UW-Whitewater was at the Bears training camp. but they passed on him. They must be a little regretful about that now. I don't think he can be picked up by anyone else until the 12th week or something like that; I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen, though, he's never lost a game he's played in since starting in high school.

Also, the Lions are losing at the half. Stafford looks uninspired.

      Staked to the ground?

Seeing the end of the WA-CHI game - looks like it's a fun one, but of course I have to root for the Racistnames - get to see a Pack game finally, I live in a wasteland...

CIN-DET tied up too, holy hannah! I can't stand Sauh and the rest of the DET defense, buncha thugs...

  4. Before the HD switch, I would watch the local broadcasts while working on Sunday. Now I can't justify a new Office TV, so I have to find an alternate approach. U-verse doesn't let us watch live TV on our mobie devices, and I haven't seen a good one that would be worth the bucks for iPad versions. So I listen to Sam and Er(who I like) but their play by play lags quite a bit behind the NFL grapho-system, so its kind of disconcerting.

But so; what is there to complain about this week? I mean, Packers take the division lead, a decent run game, strong defense.... maybe the 87 yard runback?

I might grumble a bit about the penalties. several ones that shouldn't happen, and in a closer game could make a difference.

But still. And you got to watch it! Hope you didn't alarm the cats or the wife too much.

    1. The NFL has yet to understand the term 'streaming', and don't realize I can ignore commercials on my TV same as I can ignore them on cahm-poo-ter.

I'm happy on both sides of the ball, and as far as penalties and calls, the refs were dreadful, not Fail Mary dreadful but close.

I surprised the wife once or twice, but it's more common she come into the room saying 'whadya want?", usually getting a reply of 'don't worry honey, I was just calling a bad man a bad name...'

    2. I just got a t-shirt, gold letters on green, saying "WORST CALL EVER 9.24.12"

Yeah, the NFL is kind of taking the same attitude toward change that the record labels did. Stupid, shortsighted, and someone is going to drink their milkshake. Or maybe we should just say they really aren't a non-profit.

    3. cuz if theyz a non-profit, wherefrom do they get to copyright the broadcasts?

    4. Re: Pete Rozelle's filing cabinet - Always wanted to know who was in the pictures and what they were doing. The tax exemption is a load of crap.

      Same lawyers?
I think the NFL is smarter, and since these TV deals are like 4 years long, its possible that this current deal came up with streaming in its infancy, and they will fix it next negotiation time. But right now I can't even go to TMJ on iHeart and hear Larry and Wayne. Load of shit.

    5. have you tried streaming it directly from the TMJ site? That's what I was doing.
